- Step 1 - Heat your water.ย Heat your water to the proper temperature on the stove using a tea kettle or saucepan.
- Step 2 - Measure your loose leaf tea.ย The volume that is considered the "golden ratio" of leaves to water is one teaspoon of most tea leaves per 8-ounce cup.
- Step 3 - Put your loose tea into an infuser.ย Put your loose tea into an infuser or if one is not available, you can brew in the water and strain later.
- Step 4 - Steep your tea.ย Pour your hot water over the loose tea and steep it according to the type of tea used. Be careful to not over-steep other blends, as they can quickly become bitter.
- Step 5 - Pour your tea from your teapot into your cup.ย Pour your tea from your teapot into your cup. If you did not have an infuser, here is where you can use a strainer. Sit back relax and enjoy your cup.
